First Area..Burley 4th Ward, First Companion Sister McDonald

Olivia emailed us her 1st Monday in Idaho, unfortunately her camera is not working very good so no pictures hoping her companion will let her share some of her pictures. Here is her email.

Dear Family 12-1-14
I am currently serving in the Burley 4th Ward, my trainer Sister McDonald has been out 9 months is from California
and it a month younger than I am.The flight from Salt Lake to Twin was a little easier then the flight from Phoenix to Salt Lak
e since their was less turbulence and the plane was a little bigger, I also was not Stuck in the window seat of the Emergency Exit either. Twin Falls airport is tiny. For Thanksgiving Day we had 2 different
dinners they were both serve yourself so yea it was Different then the non traditional meals we have at home,I think I am less picky then my trainer on eating different food
. The greenie box that you sent up was awesome, I appreciate The crackers, snack food, and the Tissues they have come in handy since it is allergy season right now for me.
We live in a smaill house with 1 bathroom, it is only my companion and I who live their
Since the President only likes one companionship per house. We live in the Elders Area and they live right across the stree
t from us. We are in a biking area but my companion does not like to bike in the
Cold so we walk everywhere unless a sister in the ward or the other sisters bring us home
. The water here is awful, so flavor packets would be appreciated. I got some hand me down black snow boots and
They are nice. We had a baptism on Saturday it was awesome it was an 11 year old boy
. Please watch he is the Gift on Christmas.Mornon.org it is super awesome. Love, Sister Patterson

Sister Patterson phone call and makes it to Twin Falls.

Well I was going to wait to post this to see where Sister Patterson was going to serve in her 1st area , I guess I will have to wait until p-day to find that out. Both her dad at work and I received a phone call from her from Salt Lake airport yesterday, it was great to talk to her, she sounded wonderful. I was kinda hoping she would leave me a voice mail, so I would not get emotional on the phone and I could listen to her voice. It was great to just talk for a couple of minutes, she was anxious to get to Twin Falls, she enjoyed her time at the MTC as well. We know she got to Twin thanks to some wonderful person (I am thinking Sister Curtis, her mission president's wife) who posted pictures on Facebook. We are anxious to get a letter from her either by snailmail or email. She looks good and I love seeing her smile.

MTC Week 2

I love my blanket,it keeps me so warm at night, the other sisters are always saying how cold they are at night and I am nice and snuggly warm. Thanks Mom and sibs for making it. Also I love the pillow. We have two new sisters and so are dorm is full now, they are not in are district,branch or zone.
I wear tights and boots most days and my gray jacket everyday and when I am outside I don't think about the cold so I am fine. (Dad is right it is all in your head) the other sisters are usually complaining thAt they are cold.... But I never am, I am glad that you have taught me a lot....
I have been using my doTerra oils, I have  let others in the district to use some of the little ones, they especially like peppermint.....
 Beautiful Provo, Utah Temple
Us four Sisters going to Twin Falls.

My MTC District .So it turns out that we are flying to Twin but we don't leave the MTC
until 8:30am so we have breakfast... I am glad because of the new
sisters in our dorm... I am glad that they are fine with me turning
the light on at 6... Sis A decided on 6 am the first day since I
am the only one of us four with an alarm... They keep on wondering how
I can hear the alarm and how I can be so cheerful in the morning....
Everyone else in the district are almost always tired at some part of
the day but I am always awake and not tired... Glad we have had the 5am
to 9 pm schedule at home it has really helped....
. Be friends with the others of your district but make sure you know where your companion is at all
times and they know where you are....
Sis Patterson
